Science Procedures:
Rules for the class:
I will be respectful to myself, others, and property.
I will be on time and prepared with my assignments and materials.
I will put my best effort into completing and turning in my assignments.
I will follow the CATS system at WMMS.
Materials: At least two sharpened pencils, a pen, binder, 2 science spirals, a page protectors, and an agenda. A Science Voyages book will be issued; the book should be taken home, and brought back at the end of the year to avoid a fine($45).
Order for the day
Students write homework down in agenda.
Students complete daily drill.
Students review homework and journal, and will have lessons/activities.
Grade distribution:
35%: Tests/Projects
30%: Labs/Classwork
25%: Quizzes
10%: Homework
Homework policy:
a.) Assignments turned in on time and fully completed = 100%
b.) Homework that is turned in one day late = 70%
c.) Assignments will not be accepted more than a day late and will
be given a 0%.
d.) Extra credit opportunities will be available each quarter.
Make-up work:
-Students who have missed a test, project or a quiz must make it up; I will assign a new date when they arrive back at school.
-If a student misses notes, homework, or classwork(excluding labs), they are responsible for getting their missed assignments from the extra copies found in the 'Makeup Work' box and the 'Note'book at the back table).
Labs: Before we can begin labs, students will spend a day learning about laboratory procedures and rules. Students must sign a lab agreement/contract that states that they understand the expectations for these types of activities. I must have the lab agreement signed and turned in before that student can participate.
